Rockclimbing Workshops

This workshop will teach the basics of rock climbing which includes belaying, knots and climbing techniques. Safety techniques and how to select proper equipment will also be covered. This workshop will fulfill step #'s 9 and 10 of the Adventure Sports Badge. Girls will need to come dressed in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.

Come to Camp Boothe Oaks and experience the great outdoors. This is an overnight adventure for all Junior troops. Crafts, team building skills, games and more will be a part of the fun. Sleeping arrangements are on a first come first serve basis. Two meals will be provided on Saturday. Any adult registered with the troop is welcome to attend this event but you must not exceed your girl/adult ratio. For events, trips and group camping, two adults to every 16 Junior Girl Scouts, plus one additional to every 8Junior Girl Scouts. Note: If the leader of a troop has completed the Girl Scouts of Caprock Council Outdoor Training II, you will be welcome to bring your own tents to stay in.
Please inform the Council Service Center if your troop is staying in your own tents.

Each girl needs to bring a swimsuit, and towel in a backpack. A swim test will be given and any girl not able to pass will be required to wear a vest.

Gather up your "Tribes" and head out to Camp Rio Blanco for the "Camp Survivor Challenge". This fun filled weekend will be full of physical and mental challenges, outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, and team building activities. From tribal council, to immunity challenges, to awesome competitions that teach: endurance, problem solving, and teamwork, this camp weekend promises to provide loads of fun and the opportunity to forge memories that will last a lifetime. This will be THE ULTIMATE CAMP EXPERIENCE!
A "tribe" will be a group of four (4) girls each. So if you don't have a group of four girls, ask another troop or some Juliette's if they want to join in with you. Call the council office if you need help in finding other girls.
Register on the form below and list only the 4 girls in that tribe. Each tribe will be on separate forms. Each tribe member and leader will be mailed a packet with more details after registration is received.

Learn about nature's recyclers at the Brazos Stage, and play an internationals game using recycled items in Science of Sports.
