There’s no place like New Orleans for the holidays, Christmas New Orleans Style, a celebration of uniquely New Orleans holiday activities taking place throughout the Museum.  Experience the magic of the season in a city steeped in tradition of the past, but with the food, music and good time of today.  More than a 100 festivities are planned during the night-long event, showcasing the cultural diversity that adds spice to the gumbo of New Orleans heritage.   T-Shirts available to purchase at the door $10.00 (please notify of special sizes).

Girls will learn about domestic and world wide travel.  After making a passport, each Brownie will take an exciting trip around the world visiting 6 countries which include Ireland, Japan, Tahiti, Mexico, Israel and United States.  Brownies will be enlightened by cultures, amazed with costumes, thrilled with tasty treats, and delighted with ethnic crafts.  Optional Fun. Pick a country and dress in costume.  Girls will earn three Try-Its People of the World, Travel Right and Around the World.

Join us in exploring the outdoors and learn some basic camping skills.  Build edible fires, play knot trying relays, go on a hike, learning about Leave No Trace and much more are a part of the weekend fun.  Earn the OUTDOOR FUN Try-It.  Two meals will be served on Saturday. Any adult registered with the troop is welcome to attend this event but you must not exceed your girl/adult ratio of 2 adults to every 12 girls, plus one additional adult to each additional 6 girls.

"Y's Healthy Kids" - Fit and Fun Workshop

Come to the YWCA, where "Fit is Fun and earn three try-its; Make It Eat It, Dancercise, and Eat Right Stay Healthy.  After completing all required activities, we will have a light lunch and a dip in the pool.  Girls should bring a swimsuit and towel in a backpack.  A  swim  test will be given to each girl; girls not able to pass will be required to wear a swim vest while in the pool.

Have you ever wondered what Girl Scout camp was like as a Princess’?  Of course, your weekend is filled with a little glitz and glamour, but you also know how to have a little bit of good ole’ Girl Scout camp fun.  Try your hand at making your very own "Girl Scout wand, throne, and jewelry"! 

Any adult registered with the troop is welcome to attend this event but you must not exceed your girl/adult ratio of 2 adults to every 12 girls, plus one additional adult to each additional 6 girls.

Turn recycled items into treasure and learn about conservation at the same time.  Using items that would normally go into the trash or recycling bin, build artistic masterpieces of your own design.  It’s amazing what some recycled bottles and paper can do when combined with glue and a little imagination.  Learn about the science of recycling and what things are made of in the Science Lab.  Learn about nature’s recyclers at the Brazos Stage, and play an internationals game using recycled items in Science of Sports.
